August Rendezvous: 150th Anniversary of Confederation

Newcastle Island Provincial Park, Nanaimo, BC

05 Aug 2017 1100h to 07 Aug 2017 1100h

Members $5 / Non-Members $10

This year, the BCA peeps get together to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation! So, think Canada Day, think red and white and dress up your boat in the most Canadian fashion – there will be a prize for the best decorated boat in the bay!

Also, be sure to wear your own best red and white attire for the potluck dinner on the Sunday – there will be prizes as well for the best male and female Canadian inspired outfits! In the meantime, dig up your best Canadian potluck recipe and be prepared for a great weekend full of activities and fun.

You can get more details about what we have planed on the BCA website.  But here are the highlights for this year:

  • New this year! Appie Hour and Swap Meet at the Park –  meet for Appie Hour and bring any treasures that need a good home. Tables will be available.
  • The always popular and fun floating lunch on Sunday
  • New this year! Name that Canadian Tune contest after dinner!

BCA pre-paid for 5 tent spaces, so the first five members to register for camping get a free spot, after that, the fee is $15.00 per tent in addition to the $5.00 fee for the event registration.

Please RSVP by June 25 and we hope to see you there!

We’d love to join in the Aug Rendezvous but our boat is in Greece. Any free bunks?

Hi Judy, Jordan! Sorry we did not see this request until after the Rendezvous; it would have been great to have had you aboard again…

  2. Murray, SV Calico Cat says:

While I haven’t registered by 22nd/ 25th July, would there be a problem if I was able to get the Calico Cat going and appeared on Saturday. Boat projects have prevented untying the dock lines in past but I may be able to crank up the iron lung this time. If meat is a problem I’m prepared to bring my own hotdog!

Hi Murray! It was great to meet you at the Rendezvous; glad you were able to get off the dock!! And I think you will agree that the food was awesome – no need for a hotdog!! Enjoy the rest of the summer.
