Well, well, well… here we are: Spring around the corner, boating season getting underway and I have almost found my own “Currents groove”, which means the monthly digest is coming out almost on schedule!

As some of you know, we recently purchased our cruising boat from long-time BCA members: Shaun Peck and his wife Penny. The purchasing of Polyandra was a delight, Shaun and Penny were very gracious throughout the process and we are ecstatic over our new (to us) “girl”, or should I say Denis’ girl? Anyway, the reason why I am telling you this is because you will notice that the Currents‘ March cover on the PDF file is a great photo of Polyandra, with Shaun at the helm. This is not just because we want to show-off our girl, but more due to an act of desperation: I suddenly realized I needed a cover photo for the March issue… and I had none. Then, I also realized that in fact, we will need photos for 12 covers, as Currents is now a monthly publication year-round… and I have none. At this point, the Commodore had a great idea: Why don’t we have a photo contest?

So, here’s the scoop: We ask you to submit the best photos of your boat to the Currents Editor (moi) and then the Currents team will select the 12 best shots that will make the cover of Currents for the next 12 months.

Contest Rules

• Deadline for submission of photos: April 30, 2015
• Photo submission guidelines:
  • Orientation: Portrait
  • Resolution: Minimum 1200×900 pixels or higher resolution
  • File format: .jpg

So, dig into your photo archives or go out and take a great shot of your boat and keep those submissions coming! I am really looking forward to seeing the entries come in!
