Diesel Engine Maintenance and Servicing

Course Information

Ben Gartside of Gartside Marine is offering a two day workshop on marine diesel engine maintenance and servicing.

Topics included

The workshop will focus on such topics as regular maintenance requirements, cooling systems, exhaust and ventilation, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions and stern gear.

Format

Classroom work will be held each morning, with practical demonstrations at the Gartside Marine Workshop at 2202 Harbour Road in Sidney each afternoon.

Instructor

Ben Gartside is a lifetime mechanical technician and president of Gartside Marine Engines, an engine installation and repair facility for pleasure boats, and light commercial water craft. Ben’s specialty is small marine diesel engines and inboard installations.

Lunch

Your are encouraged to bring a bag lunch due to timelines and moving from one location to another.  There are also numerous other options for a meal in Sidney. Coffee and tea will be available at the morning session.

Cancellation Policy

There is a $15 processing fee in the event of participant cancellation. In order to keep the course available for those on the waitlist, participant cancellation will be accepted up until 48 hours before the event start time.
