2020 Member Directory Coming to Your Mailbox!

Jennifer Handley

April 23rd, 2020

This week the 2020 edition of the Bluewater Cruising Association (BCA) Member Directory has been arriving in the mailboxes of members in good standing from Vancouver Island to Calgary to Ontario and beyond – have you received yours?  If not, please email BCA’s Administrator, Vimmy Dhillon, to ensure your membership is up-to-date.

The Directory is a great way to learn more about BCA and its programs, meet the 2020 Watchkeepers and Board of Directors, and, most importantly, to connect with other BCA members. You may choose to keep your copy on your boat so that when you drop the hook and see another vessel proudly flying the BCA burgee, you can look them up in your Member Directory and connect with new friends.  Or you may want to keep your copy close at hand at home.

Once you receive your copy, please check your own listing and the additional details published in the “sorts” (boat name, boat type, where moored, yacht club affiliation, etc) found in the latter half of the Directory; while every effort is made to include accurate, up-to-date info, we know that BCA members are active and move, change contact info, boats, moorages, etc throughout the year.  If your information or that of your boat is out-of-date or incomplete, please update your profile and your boat’s profile on the BCA website:  log-in, click on My Profile and Manage Profile; or email your changes to Vimmy Dhillon.

The Member Directory is published thanks to the volunteer efforts of many, including Directory Coordinators, Donna Sassaman, Rhonda Schuller and Jennifer Handley, and a fabulous support team consisting of Guylain Roy-Machabée, Vimmy Dhillon and Linda Mitsui, our publisher. If you are interested in volunteering with a passionate group of talented individuals on next year’s directory, please contact Donna Sassaman.

Last of all, BCA is very appreciative of the marine industry businesses who purchased advertising in this year’s Directory.  Thanks to:

Should you have the opportunity to give them your business, please identify yourself as a BCA member and say “thank you”.

Thanks Directory Team for another great job. Rather appropriate that this year’s photo shows vessels in port!!

    1. Jennifer Handley says:

No kidding!! I just checked and this is the first cover photo of a BCA Commodore’s boat in port since we joined BCA in 2002 (can’t speak for Directories published prior to that year). One could almost say that the 2020 Directory team had planned it this way, but to be honest, I don’t *think* it was intentional. Just happened that way…

  2. Rod Morris says:

Thank you for all your efforts in putting this together. It is a great resource and contact base. It is unfortunate that even BCA members out cruising are also stuck in ports or at anchor…but at least we can enjoy our boats.
    Cheers from Oh!
Restricted on anchor in the Exuma Islands, Bahamas

    1. Jennifer Handley says:

Hi Rod! Too bad you’ll have to wait a while longer to get your Directory! Having said that, I would think the Exuma Islands are a lovely place to hang out… But maybe not for too long? Perhaps you’ll have to while away the time by writing us an article about all the fun things you can do while “restricted on anchor”. Take care!

      1. Rod Morris says:

Hi Jennifer, I will see what I can do about contributing an article. First there is some accounting and tax work commanding my attention. But yes, the Exuma Islands are incredibly beautiful…but the countdown clock is ticking. I will address that in the article.
        All the best you.
        Cheers
        Rod
