The January meeting was held on January 26, chaired by Dan Wilson of the Program Committee since the McLean’s were still away in Mexico.
The program started with a presentation from Fleet member Malcolm Wilkinson giving us the benefit of his offshore experiences. Among other topics he emphasized avoiding the use of the main when sailing downwind. This was followed by Tom and Dawn Baker of the Fleet of 2006 who dealt with many cruising details.
The February meeting will take place on February 23 and will feature a presentation from Ken Johnson from Roton on satellite communications.
At this time we have 28 boats registered – eight of whom are leavers.
Since we still have no volunteers for coordinating VICE, Don Hutchison has started the process rolling. It was Don who did the job last year. He is hoping that some of the people involved will take over the process.
