Each chapter has a Fleet group consisting of those members preparing to venture farther afield in the coming year or soon thereafter. Join critical care paramedics—and seasoned sailors Dugg and Kristen Steary for a practical, no-nonsense session on staying healthy at sea. Drawing on passages through the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, and the Panama Canal before bringing their catamaran Agora to Vancouver, they’ll demystify the most common offshore injuries and illnesses, share how to recognize red flags early, and outline simple, evidence-based actions you can take with limited gear. You’ll leave with clear guidance on building and maintaining a sensible medical kit, tips for triage and communication when you’re days from shore, and a shortlist of trusted training, telemedicine, and reference resources tailored for cruisers.
