Ever look up and wonder at all that gear? Gain a better understanding of how to inspect and maintain your boat’s standing and running rigging.  This course is intended for people who own and maintain their own sailboat, or those who want to gain a better understanding of standing and running rigging, including proper inspection and maintenance, as well as offshore cruising preparation.

Topics Covered Include

  • Going aloft safely
  • Standing rigging
  • Running rigging
  • Seasonal maintenance

Participants will also explore the differences between keel-stepped and deck-stepped masts, learn about anti-corrosive compounds, and review maintenance for spreaders, shrouds, halyards, and chain plates. The course also dives into running rigging, covering line types, strength, maintenance, replacement schedules, and inspection of systems like jib cars and cockpit adjustables.

He is a highly experienced and knowledgeable rigging specialist.  After retiring from managing the Rigging and the Metal Fabrication divisions of Blackline Marine, Brent now looks forward to more cruising and racing time out on the water.
