Early in their careers as international teachers, Rob and Sharlene Cormack dreamed of retiring to a boat and exploring the world, but after having children, they chose to accelerate that vision. Taking a year’s leave from work, they purchased Juno, a 36-foot Albin Stratus in St. Martin. For nine months they explored the Caribbean before selling it and returning to “normal life”.
At the time, they believed their dream of ocean cruising was complete—they had scratched that itch. However, years passed and thoughts of warm turquoise waters crept back into their minds and their conversations.
In 2019, they purchased Cambria in Victoria and returned to Canada the following year.
After two years of inevitable boat projects and countless miles under sail, they were ready to push off. Their voyage carried them south to Mexico, across the South Pacific to New Zealand, and finally to Australia.
Please help us welcome Rob and Sharlene on January 15, in Nanaimo, as they share stories and photos of the places and remarkable people encountered along the way.
