We hope all BCA members have had a fabulous summer staying safe and healthy close to home (or wherever they may be aboard their boats), and perhaps getting out for a few short cruises as well! While the weather is still wonderful, it’s time to admit that fall is coming, and with it another season filled with tales of the high seas and calm canals.
Your Speakers Watchkeepers in all chapters have been working hard building a program of talks for the coming months, and we wanted to give everyone an overview of what to expect this fall.
While we are still dealing with COVID-19, the current plan is that club nights in September, October, and November, as well as BCA’s Annual General Meeting in December, will be conducted online, via Zoom, in much the same way as some of the last club nights in the spring. As usual, each chapter will host its own monthly meeting (VI Victoria and Mid-Island combined some months). Chapter members will receive emailed invitations with a Zoom link in the weeks leading up to their own chapter’s club night. If you would like to attend the meeting of another chapter, please contact the Speakers Watchkeeper for that chapter to request an invite.
We are also trying something new this fall. In order to take advantage of this unexpected opportunity for all members to mix on a larger scale, meeting and spending time with those we don’t get to see as often, each chapter will open one of their fall club nights (October to December) to the entire club. Those invites will go out to the membership at large. A brief schedule of speakers, subject to change, is below. For presentation details, please check out the BCA Community Calendar closer to the event date.
We thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate this challenging time and welcome any questions you may have!
