As we have done for many years, BCA will again have a booth at the boat show this week (January 20 -24) and an offshore boat at the in-water venue on Granville Island.  The booth (#85) will be staffed by volunteers, all of whom speak passionately about their own sailing experiences and what it means to belong to an organization like BCA.  Learn how the knowledge, mentoring and first-hand experience gained from the education programs offered by Bluewater Cruising Association can help you prepare for an adventure of a lifetime.

Visitors are also welcome aboard Camdeboo, the offshore “show boat” boat Victoria.  Designed and built in South Africa, Camdeboo has twice crossed the Atlantic, sailed the Med and successfully crossed the South Pacific to Australia before beating to windward and returning to the Pacific Northwest.  Again, BCA volunteers will be there to share their offshore cruising experiences and talk about what makes an offshore boat different from all the others.  The in-water venue will be open from 10am – 5pm daily.

Last, but not least, BCA Commodore, Jennifer Handley, is one of the VIBS Seminar speakers.  Presenting four times over the five days of the show, Jennifer will focus on what makes BCA a unique organization and one that everyone should join if they are interested in offshore cruising and want to learn how to prepare themselves and their boats for that adventure of a lifetime.  Presentation times and dates are:

• Wednesday, January 20 – 5pm
• Friday, January 22 – 5pm
• Saturday, January 23 – 2pm
• Sunday, January 24 – 1pm
