BCA Members, Please Update Your Profile!

In the next month, a small dedicated team of BCA volunteers will start compiling the 2016 Member Directory.  Their work and the overall quality of the Directory will be greatly improved if each and every member takes a few minutes to go online and update their personal profile.  During the course of any given year, life happens: people move, get a new phone number, sell one boat and purchase another, change their email address and personal relationships also may change.  And as BCA’s administrator, Liz, doesn’t keep track of all of us, it is up to you and me to make the critical updates ourselves.

Another reason to update one’s personal profile is because a quick scan of the BCA database shows that lots of basic information about Associate members, especially contact info in particular, is missing.

There is also your boat’s account that might need updating – and an opportunity to provide detailed information about your boat (but please, no email addresses!).  As the Associate member and the member’s boat are considered “sub-accounts”, the primary member can update both or the Associate can log in with their username/password.

Lastly, updating your profile is also a good excuse to check your membership status;  many memberships expire on December 31, and if you have not yet renewed, you will see a prompt to do so: “Renew Your Membership Now”.

Updating one’s profile does not take long to do.  To make it easy for everyone, there are options!

Option #1
The 2015 Member Directory has a handy one-page form on the inside front cover that you can tear out (see photo above), complete and mail to BCA.  You could also scan the completed form and email it to admin@bluewatercruising.org.

Option #2
Go online, log in to the BCA website, and enter your changes in “Manage Profile“, top right corner of the homepage.  If you are unsure what to do next, review the FAQ “How to Manage Your Profile” that walks through the steps.  Please complete the missing information (especially contact info) as completely as possible.  If you don’t remember your password, click on “Forgot your password?” and a new one will arrive in your inbox within minutes.

Option #3
Email your changes to Liz (admin@bluewatercruising.org).

Deadline to update your profile is February 29.  Any changes made after that date will not be reflected in the 2016 directory.
