A BURP in La Cruz

We had a BURP (BCA Unofficial Rendezvous Party) in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico, last Thursday March 9. There were 10 BCA boats represented at the BURP:

  • Seadra
  • Riki Tiki Tavi
  • Bright Moments
  • Coastal Drifter
  • Music
  • Mayaluga
  • Full & By
  • Southern Cross I
  • Wanderer
  • Kialoa

Not present at the BURP but also in the Banderas bay area were Sea Rover II and Woodwind I.

What a testament to the organization!  Some of the boats had been in Mexico for many years whilst others were new arrivals, some were preparing for the “Puddle Jump” and others were heading into the Sea of Cortez to find summer storage. We all had a nice time and a chance to visit with old friends and make some new ones.

Of the six boats that participated in Vice 2013 four of them were enjoying Banderas bay in March of 2017. Pictured above are the skippers of Riki Tiki Tavi, Seadra and Kialoa. Not present for the photo was the crew of Woodwind I.

Tanya! What a great way to reconnect with the 2013 Vice! We loved La Cruz after spending 5 months there in 2014. We’re happy that your sailing dream continue, Tanya, even though it’s changed over the years. Flexibility and persistence! You are an amazing woman! Keep doing what you’re doing, girlfriend!
