Stephen Reichenfeld has been messing about in boats since he was introduced to sailing as a teenager on vacation in Ireland. He has his brother in law, Brian O’Neill to blame for his affliction. He continued sailing in South-Western Ontario on Lake Huron and Lake Erie. Fast forward a few years and it seemed only natural that when presented with an opportunity to cross an ocean, he would jump at the chance. He was turned down on his request for a leave of absence from work so he simply left, figuring he would start again a few months later. In 2015 he sailed the Atlantic from Madeira to the Canary Islands and then across to Grenada. That was a decade ago, somehow going back downtown and sitting through conference calls just never regained its attraction.
A few Laser Masters World Championships later and another crossing in 2023, this time with his wife accompanying him, he is enjoying life’s continuing adventures!
Please join us as Stephen shares an Atlantic crossing with BCA.
