Calgary Club Nights start again on Tuesday September 3 and this season kicks off with a presentation about the benefits – and concerns – of sailing without actually owning a cruising yacht.
BCA member and Calgary Watchkeeper Andy den Otter will share his experiences on friends’ boats, strangers’ boats, charter boats, and teaching sailing, in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean. Learn how you can sail on Other People’s Boats too or maybe find people to help you sail on your boat!
Andy is a lifelong sailor and sailing instructor who enjoys sailing everything from sailboards to offshore cruisers. He spends 12 weeks each year coastal and bluewater cruising without owning a boat. In January he crossed from the Canary Islands to Tobago on somebody else’s boat.
