Continuing on from last year’s BCA talk on his solo Pacific crossing and then his first six months of sailing in Japan, Kirk Patterson will discuss the 2014 portion of his attempt to be the first foreigner to do a full circumnavigation of the Japanese archipelago.
Highlights include visiting the remote Goto Retto island chain famous for their “hidden Christians,” making a five-day passage to Japan’s westernmost island, lingering in Kakeroma (Japan’s “most beautiful island”), dodging two typhoons, and cruising in the scenic and calm Seto Inland Sea. He will also present his plans for 2015 and beyond.
