Come hear John’s story as he recounts his five month offshore experience of sailing to the Hawaiian islands, staying there six weeks and then sailing to Sitka, Alaska and back down the Inside Passage.
John is a lifetime coastal sailor who raised the bar to do the offshore thing. For the past ten years, John and his wife have done ISPA sail training charters on the BC coast.
About the Clarkes: “Winters find us living, as we have for all of our forty years of marriage, in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, a seaside town just over the border from Blaine, Washington, in the United States. We are at home on the water and in the wilderness with safety and first aid training both on land and at sea. Both John and Lyza are certified coastal skippers and Captain John is an ISPA (International Sail and Power Association) instructor. In 2010 we sailed offshore to the Hawaiian Islands back to Sitka Alaska and down the inside passage home. The coastal waters from Seattle to Alaska we know like our own back yard.”
