This exciting event will give you a fresh look at a semi-circumnavigation of North America.
In May 2012, The Borgmanns left their marina on Lake Ontario for a two year voyage on their 37 foot Valiant Esprit, Stonefire. On June 26, 2014 – 21,340 nautical miles later- Stonefire and her crew made landfall at Ucluelet. Along the way, Stonefire crossed the Atlantic twice, stopping at the Azores, Madeira, and the Canaries, and then onto the eastern Caribbean. She then crossed the Caribbean Sea and into the Pacific Ocean where she visited the Galapagos before proceeding on to French Polynesia, Hawaii, and finally Vancouver Island.
Prior to this voyage, Anne and Uwe had sailed on Lake Ontario for 14 years, but had made no ocean passages; only a few charters in the British Virgin Islands and Tahiti. So, come to this event and be inspired to make offshore passages and visit far off destinations.
A short tech talk on fiberglass repair/boat bottom treatments will start the evening off.
