The second meeting of the Vancouver Fleet of 2020 was held at 1900h on Tuesday, September 24 in the Caberfeigh room at the Scottish Cultural Centre. Twenty two people were there representing the twenty boats now registered.
The meeting started with the usual show and tell program where we heard about a new crimping tool and a combined tow and wind generator.
The program committee has met a number of times developing the plans for the next meetings. We will be looking at sail repair in November and rigging in January.
The presenter for the evening was Phil O’Donoghue from Fraser Fibreglass, which he has owned for 40 years. He shared the ins and outs of fibreglass repairs including the need to grind out a damaged area and get to good fibreglass before the rebuild/repair can be done, among other things.
The meeting adjourned at 2130 hours. The next meeting is scheduled for November 26.
