Resolute's engine

A one-day, hands-on, “you’re-going-to-get-dirty” course for boat owners who already have a good basic knowledge of the operation and maintenance of diesel engines. In this small class, participants will work on an operational diesel engine on a stand, in a private garage, changing key components such as the alternator, starter and injectors.

Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch, snacks and drinks to the course. Coffee and tea are provided during the lunch break.

Prerequisites

Participants must have completed the BCA Intermediate Diesel course or have a very good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of diesel engines.

About the Instructor

David West is a highly experienced and knowledgeable Diesel mechanic and sailing instructor, whose courses get rave reviews from participants.

I am a BCA member. I took Ben Gartside’s diesel maintenance course a couple of months ago and since serviced the Beta 38 on our boat. I would like to take the advanced “hands on” course. Will it be held on Vancouver Island or on the main land?

  2. Christopher Griffin says:

    Hello Vikram,
The advanced “hands-on” course is convened at a member’s home garage in Vancouver (33rd Ave at Arbutus St.).
Saturday (#1) is at capacity however, Sunday has 5 places remaining.

Vikram, This is a very good course but only offered in Vancouver. Ben Gartside’s two day course does not go into this level of detail.
