Do you find some docking conditions challenging? Whether you are a single-hander, an inexperienced crew or a confident helmsman, you will develop new skills and turn your boat handling and communication from stress to success. Instructor Rick Ellis, who also delivers BCA’s very popular Psychology of Voyaging workshops, lends his years of boating experience and professional facilitation expertise to help you Build Your Docking Skills.
Rick’s approach to the topic is unique, as it combines classroom theory with hands-on experience and follow-up / debriefing. This workshop is offered in three parts:
Part 1: Sat Mar 19, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Theory, best practices, tips and techniques to get the boat on and off the dock efficiently and safely – 4 hrs classroom.
Part 2: Mar 20 – Apr 8
Practice on your boat (intervening 3 weeks, self-directed). Rick will be available for consultation during this time.
Part 3: Sat Apr 9, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Review of practice and what you learned about your boat and yourself, problem solving, what worked and what didn’t – 3 hrs classroom.
