The Calgary Chapter welcomes everyone on January 13, 2026 for their first club night of the year.

Pam and Ted Simper were introduced to sailing in 1976 while visiting friends in East Africa and dreamed of circumnavigating for more than 30 years. In 2007 they purchased Roundabout II, a 40 ft Moody, and began to fit her out for their planned circumnavigation. In 2012 they left Canada sailing down the US coast to Mexico, where they spent the next year and a half cruising. In 2014 they crossed the Pacific from Mexico to New Zealand. On the way they cruised through the Marquesas, Tuamotus and Society Islands of French Polynesia before carrying on to Niue, Tonga and eventually New Zealand.

This presentation covers the Pacific crossing from Mexico and the journey through French Polynesia. It was only possible for them to obtain a 90-Day visa for French Polynesia, which certainly was “not enough”!

Please pre-register if you would like to attend via Zoom.
