The Course

This classroom-based 2-day course is intended for those who own and maintain their own boat or those who want to understand Diesel Engines, including proper operation and maintenance. Attendance in the Basic and Intermediate course is a prerequisite for any advanced coursework.

Course topics include:

Review of fuel, cooling and lubrication systems
Electrical system: batteries, alternators, AC chargers and inverters
Battery servicing
Various charging systems
Drives: straight drive, v-drive, sail drives
Shaft seals

The desk work includes samples of the Diesel Engine parts; handouts include diagrams of the Diesel Engine internals and related.
